Each time that the software is installed, it represents a completely separate installation. As such, you will need to follow each step listed in the install guide to configure the software.

Please note: There is a glitch when installing the software on a Mac where 2 setup records are usually created when you click the Activate button. To resolve this issue, follow the steps listed in the install guide up to Step 3. After clicking the Activate button as indicated in Step 3, look in the upper left-hand corner and you will see the number of setup records:

From here, you will need to click the Delete Record button until the number of records equal 0.

Once you have 0 records, click the Activate button once more to create a new record. You should now have only 1 record. You can then proceed to Step 4 in the Install guide. As long as you follow all of the steps, you should be good to go.

Change UsbSwiper software serial number

If you are issued a new serial number for the UsbSwiper software, you will need to delete the the old setup record by using the Delete Record button:

This should leave you with 0 setup records. You can verify this by looking in the upper left-hand corner.

If you have 1 or more records still showing, go ahead and delete them. Once you have 0 records, close out the software and re-open it. When the software re-opens, return to the setup screen and put the correct serial number in and click the Activate button. When you get the Success message, look in the upper left-hand corner to ensure that you now only have 1 setup record:

If you have more than 1 record showing, you will need to delete all of the records and start over.

Once you only have 1 record, you can make any changes you would like to the Receipt Settings. From there, click on the Gateway Settings tab and choose the merchant account that you are using, making sure that both the circle button and tab are on the correct merchant type. For example, if you are using PayPal, both circle and tab should be on PayPal:

You will need to configure the merchant account per the required information as listed on the screen. Once all of the correct information is entered, you can return to the Invoice screen and begin processing new transactions. Please note that any old unprocessed transactions will need to be re-entered as they will not be able to be processed without changing the setup record to point to the new record.

Receiving the error message "Unable to validate your PayPal Subscription as active"
The message you are getting is a generic system message and will be caused by one of several issues. First, make sure that you have an active internet connection when you start the program. If not, you will receive the message. To verify this, close the program out and open a browser to see if you can access websites such as yahoo or google. If you are able to connect to other sites with no problem, restart the software and see if the issue returns. Even if you are sure that your internet connection is active, still close out the program and restart it.
If the error still occurs, go to your Setup screen (where you can see the serial number in the center of the screen). Look in the upper left hand corner and make sure that you only have one (1) unsorted record.

If you have more than one, you will need to delete all of the extra records. (See below) You will need to delete all of the records without a Subscription ID (to the right of the serial number) by using the Delete Record button:
Lastly, try re-activating the software by clicking on the Activate button beside the serial number on the Setup screen.
Once you address these three issues, retry the transaction. If it doesn’t work, close out the software, open it back, create a new invoice and try it once more.
Reset the UsbSwiper Software Password

To reset the password, sign in using admin as the account name and the password is Passw0rd~ (copy and paste it including the tilda~) . Once signed in, go to the Setup screen (where you see the serial number in the middle of the screen). Click on the Preferences tab and click on the button that says Reset Password (see below).

Doing so will reset the password to the word password. You will then need to close out and restart the software, signing in as user (as usual) and the word password for your password. At that point, you will be prompted to change your password.
